Following Emery’s sacking mid-way last season after a poor start we hired Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg as interim manager until we found a suitable candidate for the rest of the season and that came by the name of former Arsenal player Mikel Arteta. As a fan I was very excited as he was Pep’s number two so he would bring his philosophy and his own brand of football
that was successful at City. Fast forward to the end of the season Arsenal finished 8th which is the worst finish in our history but covered the wounds of this with another FA Cup win against Chelsea. When the new season started, I expected us to challenge for top 4, retain the FA Cup and reach the latter stages of the Europa League.
How have signings performed
Ones to watch in the second half of the season
For the second half of the season look out for Emile Smith Rowe since he’s been put into the side, he’s look outstanding and he’ll only get better. Gabriel Martinelli is another one he had a horrible knee injury last season after a brilliant start to the season notching 10 goals in all comps.
Rating the manager
Where I think we’ll finish
If we can sign another attacking midfielder which looks like it’s going to happen in Martin Odegaard, a LB that can challenge Tierney we can try push for top 4 but it’s going to be a tough challenge. For Europa League I want us to reach the final stages.
